Click-to-WhatsApp Ads for Dental Clinics

By Alva Chew 6 min read Updated October 30, 2026

Dental clinics run click-to-WhatsApp ads for first visits, scaling and polishing, whitening and braces consultations. AeroChat answers the patient who clicks straight away, explains the offer, books the visit in Cliniko, Open Dental or Google Calendar, and takes a deposit if you ask for one. Pain and other symptoms go to your clinic team. The booking happens inside Meta’s free window.

What happens today

A whitening ad brings in messages in the evening, after the front desk has gone home. The next morning, the team is busy with patients in the chair, and the replies wait until lunch.

By then, patients who asked the price have booked elsewhere. The ones who do book are entered by hand, and the clinic cannot tell which ad brought them in.

How it runs on WhatsApp

  1. The ad opens WhatsApp with a prefilled message, such as “Hi, I’d like the first-visit scaling and polishing offer” (example).
  2. AeroChat replies straight away with what the visit includes, how long it takes and the price. This reply opens the free window.
  3. It asks whether they are a new or existing patient and searches your practice system by phone number. If WhatsApp did not pass a number, it asks for one.
  4. It reads free slots for the right appointment type and offers three.
  5. It books the slot they pick, creating the patient record if they are new, with the ad as the source.
  6. It sends a deposit link if your clinic takes one, and confirms the booking with the address and what to bring.
  7. Pain, swelling, bleeding or any symptom goes to your clinic team at once.

The recipe

Copy this into AeroChat

When someone messages us from a Facebook or Instagram ad, follow these steps.

  1. Read their first message to see which offer they clicked. “First visit” means our S$88 first visit with scaling and polishing (example). If it is not clear, ask which offer they saw.
  2. Explain what the visit includes and how long it takes, from our knowledge base. Do not give a diagnosis or treatment advice.
  3. Ask if they have been to us before. Search Cliniko for the patient with their phone number. If there is none, ask for their full name, date of birth and email.
  4. Check free slots for a New Patient Visit (example) in Cliniko over the next 7 days and offer three.
  5. Book the slot they pick, creating the patient if they are new. Send a S$20 deposit link (example).
  6. When the deposit is paid, confirm the date, time, address and what to bring.
  7. If they mention pain, swelling, bleeding or any other symptom, hand the conversation to our clinic team straight away.

Keep the first reply short and about the offer in the ad. Reply in the customer’s language.

Change the offer, appointment type and deposit to your own. For Open Dental, name it instead of Cliniko and keep the steps.

Connect the systems behind it

  • Cliniko. AeroChat finds or creates the patient, reads free slots and books the appointment type for the offer.
  • Open Dental. AeroChat books the first visit into Open Dental for clinics running it.
  • Google Calendar. Built in by connecting a Google account. Smaller clinics book straight into the dentists’ calendars.
  • GoHighLevel. AeroChat tags the contact with the ad and moves them through your patient pipeline.
  • Stripe. AeroChat sends the deposit link and confirms the booking when it is paid.

Airwallex payment links are built in on Growth and up.

Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

What it costs on WhatsApp

When someone messages you from a click-to-WhatsApp ad in the WhatsApp app on Android or iOS, and you reply within 24 hours, Meta opens a free window of up to 7 days. AeroChat replies within seconds, so the window opens on every ad chat from a phone. A first-visit booking takes a few messages: the offer, new or existing patient, the slot and the deposit. Within 7 days of your first reply, all of them are free, including the confirmation with the address. Meta Business Agent messages are the only ones still charged in the window. After it closes, service replies are free up to 1,000 a month per business phone number and then charged per message, and templates are charged per message. Rates vary by country and are set in Meta’s rate cards. AeroChat passes Meta’s WhatsApp fees through at cost. The full window rules are on the click-to-WhatsApp ads page.

Also on Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and web chat

The same workflow runs on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok (direct messages and TikTok Shop buyer chat), Telegram, web chat and email, with the same connections. Ads that open an Instagram or Messenger chat follow their own reply windows: see click-to-Instagram ads and click-to-Messenger ads.

Questions

Can AeroChat book dental appointments from a WhatsApp ad?

Yes. It reads free slots from your practice system or calendar, books the one the patient picks and confirms it in the same chat.

What if a patient describes pain or a symptom?

AeroChat does not give dental advice. It hands the conversation to your clinic team straight away, so a person decides what the patient needs.

Are replies to click-to-WhatsApp ad chats free?

Yes, if you reply within 24 hours of the customer’s first message and they messaged from WhatsApp on Android or iOS. That reply opens a free window of up to 7 days, in which service replies and marketing, utility and authentication templates are free. Meta Business Agent messages are still charged.
