Facebook Messenger Comment Auto Reply With Private Replies

By Alva Chew 5 min read Updated October 30, 2026

A Facebook comment auto reply answers people who comment on your Page’s posts and ads, then moves the conversation into Messenger with a private reply. AeroChat replies under the comment, sends the commenter a private message with the price, link or answer, reads those details from your Google Sheet or Shopify store, and records the lead in HubSpot or GoHighLevel when they reply.

What happens today

A post does well and fills up with “price?”, “still available?” and “how do I order?”. Someone replies “check your inbox” to each comment, then sends the same message by hand to each person.

Comments from the evening are answered the next day, after the person has moved on. Comments on boosted posts and ads get missed altogether, and none of these people end up in the CRM.

How it runs on Messenger

  1. Someone comments on your Page’s post or ad. AeroChat posts a short public reply under the comment, such as “Sent you the details in Messenger”.
  2. It sends one private reply to the commenter in Messenger, with the answer to what they asked.
  3. It reads the details from your systems: the price and stock from your Google Sheet or Shopify, or the offer from your knowledge base.
  4. When the person replies in Messenger, the normal conversation starts. AeroChat answers follow-up questions and asks for their name and email if they want to buy or book.
  5. It creates or updates the contact in HubSpot or GoHighLevel, with the post as the source and a note of what they asked.
  6. If they ask for a person, or the comment is a complaint, AeroChat hands the conversation to your team in the inbox.

The recipe

Copy this into AeroChat

When someone comments on one of our Facebook posts, follow these steps.

  1. Reply under the comment with one short line, such as “Hi, we’ve sent you the details in Messenger.” Never post prices or personal details in the public reply.
  2. Send them a private reply that answers their comment. For price or stock questions, read the product from our Products tab in Google Sheets (example) and give the price and whether it is in stock.
  3. End the private reply with a question, such as “Would you like me to reserve one for you?”
  4. If they reply, answer their questions and ask for their name and email if they want to order.
  5. Create or update the contact in HubSpot with the source Facebook comment (example) and a note of the product they asked about.
  6. If the comment is a complaint or they ask for a person, hand the conversation to our team.

Send only one private reply per comment. Reply in the customer’s language.

Change the sheet tab and the source value to your own. If your products are in Shopify, name Shopify instead of the sheet.

Connect the systems behind it

  • Google Sheets: the product list, prices and stock AeroChat quotes in the private reply. Connect your Google account.
  • HubSpot: AeroChat creates the contact with the post as the source, so you can see which posts bring leads.
  • GoHighLevel: AeroChat creates the contact, adds a tag for the post and opens an opportunity.
  • Shopify and WordPress. Built in. AeroChat reads product prices and stock as soon as the store is connected.

Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

Meta’s rules on Messenger

Your Page can send one private reply to a comment or visitor post, within 7 days of it. Once the person replies in Messenger, the standard window applies: you can reply within 24 hours of their last message. Replies typed by a person on your team have a separate 7-day window, which automated replies cannot use. Meta expects automated replies within 30 seconds of a message, or it can limit your messaging.

Also on WhatsApp, TikTok and web chat

The same workflow runs on Instagram, where comments on posts, reels, stories, Live and ads get a private reply in Direct. Once the conversation moves into chat, the same steps run on WhatsApp, TikTok (direct messages and TikTok Shop buyer chat), Telegram, web chat and email, with the same product data and CRM behind it.

Who uses it

Businesses that sell from their posts, including fashion stores answering stock questions, beauty stores recommending products and property agents answering listing enquiries.
