WhatsApp Review Requests After Every Visit or Order
A WhatsApp review request asks a customer to leave a public review, usually on Google, right after a visit or a delivered order. AeroChat sends the review link, answers the customer’s questions, logs who was asked in Google Sheets so nobody is asked twice, and passes any complaint to a person on your team.
What happens today
Staff mean to ask for reviews at the counter, and it happens on good days only. A review link in an email footer gets ignored.
When someone does send requests on WhatsApp, they copy and paste from a personal phone. Nobody keeps track of who was asked, so loyal customers get asked three times and new ones never.
How it runs on WhatsApp
- The request goes out at the right moment. AeroChat asks at the end of a conversation where the customer has just said thanks, or you send the request as a WhatsApp broadcast to opted-in customers who visited or received an order that week (Growth and up).
- Before asking inside a conversation, AeroChat checks your Google Sheet by phone number to see whether this customer was asked in the last 6 months (example). If there is no number, it uses their email or booking reference.
- It sends your review link with one short line on how to leave the review.
- It writes the date, the customer and “asked” to the sheet, and updates the row to “said done” if the customer confirms they posted.
- If the customer raises a problem instead, AeroChat thanks them, says a person will reply, and hands the conversation to your manager with a short summary.
The recipe
Copy this into AeroChat
When a customer thanks us at the end of a conversation, or replies to our review request, follow these steps.
- Find the customer in the Google Sheet “Review requests” (example) by phone number. If there is no phone number, ask for their email or booking reference.
- If they were asked for a review in the last 6 months (example), do not ask again. Thank them and end the conversation.
- Otherwise say: “Glad we could help. Would you mind leaving us a short Google review? It takes a minute.” and send our review link https://g.page/r/your-link (example).
- Add a row with today’s date, their name, phone or email, and the status “asked”.
- If they say they have posted it, update the status to “said done” and thank them.
- If they mention a problem, say: “Thank you for telling us. Our manager will message you today.” Hand the conversation to the store manager (example) with a one-line summary.
Ask for a review once per conversation. Never offer a discount or gift in return for a review. Reply in the customer’s language.
Connect the systems behind it
- Google Sheets: keeps the list of who was asked and when, so no customer is asked twice. Connect a Google account and AeroChat reads and writes rows.
- Square: confirms the customer had a recent visit or purchase before the request goes out.
- Phorest: finds the salon visit and the stylist, so the request can name them.
- HubSpot: records the request and the outcome on the contact for B2B customers.
Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

What it costs on WhatsApp
A request made inside a conversation the customer started is a service reply, free up to 1,000 a month per business phone number and then charged per message. A request sent later as a broadcast goes out as a marketing template, charged per message with no free allowance. The customer’s replies cost nothing. Rates vary by country and are set in Meta’s rate cards, and AeroChat passes Meta’s WhatsApp fees through at cost.
Also on Instagram, Messenger, TikTok and web chat
The same review request workflow runs on Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok (DMs and TikTok Shop buyer chat), Telegram, web chat and email, with the same Google Sheet keeping one list of who was asked.
Who uses it
- Hair and beauty salons asking after each appointment.
- Spas and wellness centres asking after a treatment.
- Dental clinics asking after a check-up.
- Restaurants and caterers asking after an event or delivery.
Questions
How do I ask customers for Google reviews on WhatsApp?
Paste a recipe like the one above into AeroChat with your Google review link. AeroChat asks at the end of good conversations, or replies to customers who answer your broadcast, and keeps a list so nobody is asked twice.
Can I send review requests to customers who have not messaged me?
Yes, if they opted in to hear from you on WhatsApp. Outside the 24-hour window that opens with the customer’s last message, only an approved template can be sent. Broadcasts are on Growth and up.
Should I only ask happy customers?
No. Send the same request to every customer, whatever you expect them to say. AeroChat hands complaints to your team so they get a proper answer, and it never offers anything in return for a review.
Which plan do I need?
Workflows via Skills are on every plan, Free included. Starter has 500 AI responses and 3 seats, Growth has 2,000 and 10 seats with payment links and broadcasts, and Advanced has 5,000 and 25 seats.
