Facebook Messenger Ads: Answer and Log Every Ad Lead
A click-to-Messenger ad is a Facebook or Instagram ad whose button opens a Messenger chat with your Page. AeroChat answers the person who clicked, picks up which offer they came for, qualifies them, and creates the lead in HubSpot, Pipedrive or GoHighLevel. Where the offer is a booking, it books them into your calendar in the same chat.
What happens today
You pay for the click, the chat opens, and the first reply comes hours later from whoever checks the Page inbox. Ad clicks arrive in bursts, often at night and at weekends, when people scroll.
The person asks about the offer in the ad and gets a generic greeting. The ones who do get an answer often never reach the CRM, so nobody can tell which ad produced which sale.
How it runs on Messenger
- Each ad has its own greeting and suggested questions, such as “I’d like the first-visit facial offer” (example), so AeroChat knows which offer the person clicked.
- AeroChat replies straight away, confirms the offer and answers questions about it from your knowledge base.
- It asks for the person’s name and email or phone number, since Messenger does not pass them, and searches your CRM to see whether they are a returning customer or an existing lead.
- It asks one or two qualifying questions, such as which day suits or what they need.
- It creates or updates the contact with the ad campaign as the source, and adds a note of the conversation.
- If the offer is a booking, it reads free slots from your calendar and books the one the person picks.
- Anything outside the offer, and any request for a person, goes to your team in the inbox.
The recipe
Copy this into AeroChat
When someone messages our Page from a Facebook or Instagram ad, follow these steps.
- Read their first message to see which offer they clicked. “First-visit facial” means our S$68 first-visit facial (example). If it is not clear, ask which offer they saw.
- Answer their questions about the offer from our knowledge base, including the price and what is included.
- Ask for their name and phone number. Search GoHighLevel for a contact with that number. If there is none, create one with the tag ctm-facial-oct and the source “Click-to-Messenger ad” (example values).
- Ask which day and time suit them, check the free slots in our GoHighLevel calendar, and offer three.
- Book the slot they pick and send the date, time and address.
- If they are not ready to book, create an opportunity in the New Enquiry stage (example) of our pipeline with a note of what they asked.
- If they ask about anything outside the offer, or ask for a person, hand the conversation to our team.
Keep the first reply short and about the offer in the ad. Reply in the customer’s language.
Write one line per ad in the first step, matching each ad’s greeting to its offer. Change the tag, source and pipeline stage to the ones your CRM uses.
Connect the systems behind it
- HubSpot. AeroChat creates the contact with the campaign as the source, so HubSpot reports show which ads produce leads.
- Pipedrive. AeroChat creates the person and the lead, labelled with the campaign, and books a call activity with a salesperson.
- GoHighLevel. AeroChat reads free calendar slots, books the appointment, tags the contact and opens an opportunity.
- Google Calendar. Built in by connecting a Google account. AeroChat offers free times and books the appointment straight into your calendar.
Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

Meta’s rules on Messenger
After a person’s first message from a click-to-Messenger ad, your Page may reply for up to 7 days from that message. Every later message from them also opens the standard 24-hour window. Replies typed by a person on your team have a separate 7-day window, which automated replies cannot use. Meta expects automated replies within 30 seconds of a message, or it can limit your messaging. Answering at once, while the person still has the ad in mind, is what turns the click into a booking.
Also on WhatsApp, TikTok and web chat
The same ad-lead workflow runs on click-to-WhatsApp ads, click-to-Instagram-Direct ads, TikTok (direct messages and TikTok Shop buyer chat), Telegram, web chat and email. Every lead gets the same first reply, qualification and CRM record, with the same connections behind them.
Who uses it
- Spas and wellness centres: first-visit offers booked straight from the ad chat.
- Hair and beauty salons: promotion clicks turned into bookings with a stylist.
- Property agents: listing ads answered and qualified before an agent calls.
- Tuition centres: trial class ads booked into a class with spaces left.
Questions
What are click-to-Messenger ads?
They are Facebook or Instagram ads with a button that opens a Messenger conversation with your Page, instead of sending the person to a website.
How long can I reply to someone who messaged from a Messenger ad?
Up to 7 days from their first message from the ad. Each new message from them also opens a 24-hour window for replies.
Can I tell which ad a Messenger lead came from?
Yes, if each ad has its own greeting or suggested question. AeroChat reads the first message, knows the offer, and records the campaign as the source on the contact in your CRM.
Can AeroChat answer ad leads at night and at weekends?
Yes. It replies as soon as the person messages, at any hour, and hands the conversation to your team when they ask for a person or the question falls outside the offer.
