Switching From ManyChat to AeroChat: A Practical Move Guide

By Alva Chew 7 min read October 31, 2026

Switching from ManyChat to AeroChat comes down to four things: your WhatsApp number, your contacts, your flows and your channels. The number moves over, your contacts stay in the tools you already use, and your flows become workflows you describe in your own words. This guide takes each one in order, with the Meta rules that apply.

Before you start

  • List the channels you run in ManyChat: Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram or email.
  • List your flows, and mark the ones customers actually use. Order questions, bookings, prices and lead capture are often the busy ones.
  • Note which tools ManyChat sends data to. As shown on ManyChat’s site on 31 October 2026, its integrations include Klaviyo, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, Kit, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Zapier and Make.
  • Save copies of your approved WhatsApp message templates and their wording.

Features change, so check ManyChat’s current help pages for how to disconnect each channel.

Step 1: Move your WhatsApp number

As shown on ManyChat’s site on 31 October 2026, a number connected to ManyChat cannot be viewed or answered in the WhatsApp Business app, and ManyChat recommends a brand-new number. You have two clean routes to AeroChat.

  • Keep the number you used with ManyChat. Disconnect WhatsApp in ManyChat, then connect the number in AeroChat with embedded signup.
  • Go back to your original business number. If you kept your main number on the WhatsApp Business app, connect it to AeroChat with coexistence. You keep using the app on your phone, chats stay in sync with the API, and with your consent your chat history and contacts sync within 24 hours. Group chats do not sync. You need app version 2.24.17 or later.

Once connected, check your templates in AeroChat. If any are missing, submit them again. Meta can take up to 24 hours to review a template. Our guides to WhatsApp coexistence and template approval cover both in detail.

Step 2: Bring your contacts with you

Your contacts are customers who opted in to hear from you, and the opt-in is what matters most.

  • WhatsApp: you can message opted-in customers first with an approved template. Without an opt-in, wait for them to message you. Broadcasts to opted-in customers are on Growth and above. See opt-in and opt-out handling.
  • Instagram and Messenger: Meta lets a business message someone only after they message first, mostly within 24 hours of their last message. No tool can bulk-message these contacts after a switch. They reach AeroChat the next time they DM or comment.
  • Your CRM and email list: if ManyChat sent contacts to HubSpot, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign or Google Sheets, they are still there. Connect the same tool to AeroChat, and it can look customers up and keep adding to the same records.

Step 3: Rebuild your flows as described workflows

In AeroChat you don’t rebuild flows step by step. You describe what should happen in your own words, in any language, and the system builds the workflow. It works out which tools to call, names the keys it needs, and creates the workflow as a draft with a checklist of what is left for you to do. You paste in your keys in the dashboard and switch it on. Secret values never pass through the AI.

Take your busiest ManyChat flow and write it as a description. A booking flow for a salon could look like this:

Copy this into AeroChat

When a customer asks to book a treatment, follow these steps.

  1. Ask which treatment they want and which day suits them.
  2. Check our Google Calendar and offer three free slots on that day.
  3. When they choose a slot, ask for their name and phone number, or their email if we don’t have a number.
  4. Send a payment link for a S$20 deposit (example).
  5. When the deposit is paid, book the slot in Google Calendar and confirm the date, time and address.
  6. If they ask about anything we don’t offer, or want to speak to someone, hand the chat to our front desk.

Reply in the customer’s language.

Start with the two or three workflows that carry most of your chats. The WhatsApp workflows library has ready descriptions for order tracking, appointment booking, lead capture and more. You can also describe a workflow to Claude or ChatGPT connected through the AeroChat MCP.

Step 4: Reconnect your channels

Connect one channel at a time, and disconnect it in ManyChat first, so two tools never answer the same customer.

  • Instagram: connect your Instagram professional account. AeroChat answers DMs and replies automatically to comments. See the Instagram workflows.
  • Facebook Messenger: connect your Facebook Page. AeroChat answers Messenger chats and Page comments. See the Messenger workflows.
  • TikTok: one TikTok channel covers TikTok DMs and TikTok Shop buyer chat in one inbox.
  • Telegram, email and web chat: add these the same way. Email works with Gmail and Office 365, and web chat goes on your own site.

Every workflow you set up runs on every connected channel, with the same systems behind it.

After the move

Run both checks in the first week. Read through a sample of real conversations on each channel, and fix any description that gave the wrong answer. Then check the records in your CRM or Sheet, so you know each lookup and update is writing to the right place.

Keep an eye on WhatsApp costs too. Meta charges per message, and from 1 October 2026 each business phone number gets 1,000 free service replies a month before each one is charged. Workflows that finish in fewer replies cost less. Our WhatsApp API pricing guide has the detail.

Questions

Will I lose my WhatsApp chat history?

If you connect a WhatsApp Business app number through coexistence, your chat history and contacts sync within 24 hours with your consent. Group chats do not sync.

Can AeroChat import my ManyChat flows?

Not as flows. You describe what each flow should do, and AeroChat builds it as a workflow connected to your systems.

How long does the switch take?

It depends on how many channels and workflows you move. Move one channel and your busiest workflow first, test it on real chats, then add the rest. On WhatsApp, allow for template review, which can take up to 24 hours.

Which plan should I start on?

Start on the 7-day free trial, with no credit card. Workflows via Skills are on every plan, Free included. Starter includes 500 AI responses and 3 seats.
