Connect Mailchimp to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and AI Chat

What you can do with Mailchimp and AeroChat
- Add chat contacts to your audience with consent. When someone agrees in chat to hear from you, AeroChat adds or updates them in Mailchimp with a record of how and when they agreed. Nobody is added without a yes.
- Answer subscription questions and unsubscribe on request. AeroChat checks the subscriber in Mailchimp, tells them what they are signed up for, and unsubscribes them or narrows what they get when they ask.
- Recognise returning subscribers. AeroChat looks up the member by email and uses what Mailchimp already knows, such as their tags and the last campaign they received.
- Tag subscribers by interest. When someone asks about a product line or an event, AeroChat adds the matching tag so your segments pick them up.
- Log what happened in chat. AeroChat adds a member note or a member event, such as a chat signup, that your automations can use.

How the connection works
AeroChat connects through Mailchimp’s public API. It reads and writes audiences (lists), members and their subscription status, tags, merge fields, notes, member events and member activity, and the ecommerce orders of a connected store. Each workflow uses only what its recipe asks for. AeroChat adds someone to a marketing audience only after they agree in the conversation.
To connect, an account owner or admin creates an API key in Mailchimp under Account, Extras, API keys, and copies it. Mailchimp’s Marketing API documentation explains the key and what it can reach. Paste the key into the AeroChat dashboard when AeroChat asks.
You describe the workflow in your own words. AeroChat builds it as a draft, works out which Mailchimp calls it needs, and asks you to connect. Keys and credentials are entered in the AeroChat dashboard and never pass through the conversation.

When someone in chat says they want to hear about new arrivals or offers, ask for their email and confirm they agree to receive marketing emails from us. Only if they say yes, add or update them in our Newsletter audience (example) in Mailchimp with status subscribed, their first name and a tag for the channel they used. If they say no, carry on helping and add nothing.

When someone on our Newsletter audience (example) asks about kids’ shoes, bridal or another product line, find their member record in Mailchimp by email. Add a tag for that interest, such as interest-kids (example). Add a member event called chat_enquiry (example) with the product line as a property. Do not change their subscription status. Reply in the customer’s language.

Can WhatsApp contacts join my Mailchimp audience?
