Answer TeamUp Membership and Pass Questions on WhatsApp

By Alva Chew 4 min read Updated October 30, 2026

This recipe answers “how many sessions do I have left?” and “is my membership still active?” in chat, from the customer’s memberships in TeamUp. Part of connecting TeamUp to WhatsApp and AI chat.

What happens today

Members ask how many sessions are left on their 10-class pass, or whether their membership is still active after a holiday. Each answer means finding the customer in TeamUp and reading their membership. These questions pile up before evening classes, when the team is busiest.

The flow that works

  1. AeroChat asks for the email on the member’s TeamUp account.
  2. It finds the customer in TeamUp.
  3. It reads their memberships and usage.
  4. It replies with what they have, what they have used and when it ends.
  5. If the pass is nearly used up, it tells them what they can buy next.

The recipe

Copy this into AeroChat

When a member asks about their pass, membership or how many sessions they have left, follow these steps.

  1. Ask for the email on their TeamUp account, unless we already have it.
  2. Find the customer in TeamUp. If there is more than one match, ask for their full name.
  3. Read their customer memberships and the usage summary for each.
  4. Reply with the membership name, the sessions used and left if it is a pass, and the end or renewal date.
  5. If they have 2 sessions or fewer left (example), tell them which passes and memberships we sell, from our knowledge base, and offer to hand over to our team to buy one.

Never share another customer’s details. If they want to pause or cancel a membership, hand the conversation to our team with their name and request. Reply in the customer’s language.

What to connect

  • TeamUp. An admin creates an M2M token in your TeamUp business dashboard and copies it. Paste it in when AeroChat asks.
  • Your knowledge base. Upload your membership and pass options and your rules on pauses and expiry.

After you paste the recipe, AeroChat builds the workflow as a draft and shows a checklist: connect TeamUp, add your knowledge base if the recipe uses one, then switch it on. If it built the connection from TeamUp’s public documentation, the checklist asks you to check it once against the current docs.

Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

What you still decide

  • Which membership details AeroChat shares in chat.
  • When it suggests a new pass.
  • Who handles pauses and cancellations.

The result to expect

Members get their pass and membership details in seconds, in the chat they already use. Your team spends less time reading out balances, and members renew before their pass runs out.

Measure it with your own numbers: membership questions answered without staff, and renewals that follow a balance question, for a month before and after.

Next: book TeamUp classes from chat.

Works on every chat channel

This workflow runs the same way on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, the chat on your website and email, with the same TeamUp connection behind it. See what each channel does on the TeamUp integration page.
