Hotel Local Recommendations on WhatsApp From Your Own List
This recipe answers the concierge questions guests ask during their stay: where to eat nearby, how to get to an attraction, whether a place is open, which way to the train station. It answers from a short list your team writes, and offers your own restaurant, tours or transfers where they fit. Part of the hotel workflows.
What happens today
A family asks the front desk “where can we get good local food near here, halal?” and “how do we get to the main museum?”. The receptionist gives a good answer, but only if they know the area and are not busy. On WhatsApp the same question waits behind check-ins. The guest searches online, eats somewhere else, and books a tour you also sell through a different site.
The flow that works
- The guest asks what to eat, where to go or how to get there.
- AeroChat answers from your recommendations list, with the walking time or the transport option you have written down.
- Where it fits, it mentions your own restaurant, a tour you sell or a transfer, with the price.
- If the guest wants to book something you sell, it takes the details and passes them to the front office, or sends a payment link.
- If a place is not on your list, it says so and suggests the closest match that is.
Recommendations come only from your list. AeroChat does not invent places, prices or opening hours.

When a guest asks for a recommendation or directions, follow these steps.
- Find out what they want: food, an attraction, shopping, transport or something else, and any need such as halal, vegetarian, child-friendly or wheelchair access.
- Answer only from our recommendations list. For each suggestion, give the name, what it is known for, how far it is and how to get there, for example “Market Street Food Hall, 8 minutes’ walk. Try the noodle stall by the entrance (example).”
- Offer up to three suggestions. Say whether each one is halal if our list says so. If our list does not say, tell them to check at the stall.
- If our own restaurant, tour or transfer fits what they asked, mention it with the price from our extras list.
- If they want to book one of ours, collect their room number, the date, time and number of people, and notify the front office. For a paid tour or transfer, send a payment link.
- If what they asked is not on our list, say we do not have a recommendation for that and offer the closest thing we do have, or say the front office can help.
Never invent a place, an opening time or a price. Never promise a table at a restaurant that is not ours. If the guest is lost, unwell or unsafe, hand the conversation to the duty manager. Reply in the guest’s language.
Change the example to a place near you, and write your list before you paste it.
What to connect
- Your recommendations list. A short document in the AeroChat knowledge base: 20 to 40 places your team would send a friend to, with walking time, transport, price range and dietary notes. Review it every few months.
- Your extras list, for your own restaurant, tours and transfers with prices.
- Payments, if you sell tours or transfers in the chat. Airwallex is built in. HitPay and Stripe connect through their APIs if you already use them. Payment links are included from the Growth plan.
Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.
Can’t find your tool? Message us in the chat on this page and we’ll tell you how it connects.
What you still decide
- Which places go on the list, and how often you review it.
- How strongly to suggest your own restaurant and tours.
- Whether to state halal status, or tell guests to check.
The result to expect
Guests get a local answer they trust within seconds, from your own team’s knowledge. Some of them eat at your restaurant or book your tour instead of one found online. Your front desk spends less time drawing maps.
Measure it with your own numbers: tour, transfer and restaurant bookings that started in a chat, for a month before and after you start.
Next: complaint handover and facility and policy questions.
Write your list and test it
Upload your recommendations list, paste the recipe and ask your own number for dinner nearby.
