Answer WhatsApp Project Status Questions from Wrike

By Alva Chew 4 min read Updated October 30, 2026

This recipe answers “how is my project going” in chat from Wrike, and adds the client’s feedback to the task where the team works. Part of connecting Wrike to WhatsApp and AI chat.

What happens today

Clients ask the account lead for updates by message several times a week. The lead opens Wrike, checks the task, asks the team and replies. Feedback sent on WhatsApp stays in the chat, so the person doing the work does not see it until someone passes it on.

The flow that works

  1. The client asks how their project is going.
  2. AeroChat finds the open task with the client’s company name in Wrike.
  3. It replies with the status and the due date.
  4. If the client gives feedback, it adds it to the task as a comment.
  5. If they ask for a new deadline or more work, it hands the conversation to the person responsible.

The recipe

Copy this into AeroChat

When a client asks about their project, follow these steps.

  1. Search Wrike for active tasks with their company name in the title (example). If there is more than one, list the titles and ask which one they mean.
  2. Tell them the task’s status and due date, for example “In review, due on 20 November” (example).
  3. If they send feedback or changes, add their words to the task as a comment, starting with “Client feedback by chat:”, and tell them the team will see it there.
  4. If they ask for a new deadline or work beyond the brief, tell them the person responsible will confirm and hand the conversation over.
  5. If no task matches, ask for the project name and search again, then hand over to our team if there is still no match.

Only share tasks from the client’s own folder. Reply in the customer’s language.

Change the naming rule and the status wording to match how your team sets up tasks before you paste it.

What to connect

  • Wrike. Create an app in Wrike’s App Console, generate a permanent access token from an account that can see your client folders, and paste the token in when AeroChat asks.

After you paste the recipe, AeroChat builds the workflow as a draft and shows a checklist: connect Wrike, then switch it on. If it built the connection from Wrike’s public documentation, the checklist asks you to check it once against the current docs.

Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.

What you still decide

  • Which task details the client may see.
  • Which requests AeroChat records itself, and which go to a person.
  • Who gets the handover.

The result to expect

Clients get project updates in seconds at any hour, and their feedback is on the task where the team works. Account leads spend less time relaying messages.

Measure it with your own numbers: status questions answered without your team, and feedback added to tasks from chat, for a month before and after.

Next: turn chat requests into Wrike tasks.

Works on every chat channel

This workflow runs the same way on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, the chat on your website and email, with the same Wrike connection behind it. See what each channel does on the Wrike integration page.
