Answer Availability and Price Questions on WhatsApp with Lodgify
This recipe answers “is it free, and how much?” in chat from Lodgify. It checks availability for the guest’s dates and replies with a quote from your own rates. Part of connecting Lodgify to WhatsApp and AI chat.
What happens today
Most messages to a holiday rental are the same question with different dates. The owner checks the Lodgify calendar, works out the price with the cleaning fee and the weekend rate, and types it out. Messages that arrive while the owner is busy or asleep wait for hours, and the guest books somewhere that answered.
The flow that works
- AeroChat asks for the dates, number of guests and property.
- It checks availability in Lodgify for those dates.
- It gets a quote from Lodgify for the stay.
- It replies with the total, the deposit and the cancellation terms.
- If the property is full, it offers your other free properties.
The recipe
Copy this into AeroChat
When someone asks whether a property is free or what a stay costs, follow these steps.
- Ask for their arrival date, departure date, number of adults and children, and which property they want, if they have not said.
- Check availability in Lodgify for that property and those dates.
- If it is free and fits the number of guests, get a quote from Lodgify for the stay. Reply with the total, what it includes, the deposit and our cancellation terms.
- If it is not free, check our other properties for the same dates and offer up to three that are free, with a quote for each.
- If no property is free, offer the nearest dates when the property they asked about is free.
- If they want to book, move on to taking the booking.
Use only prices from the Lodgify quote. Never offer a discount. If they ask about a stay longer than 28 nights (example), hand the conversation to our team. Reply in the customer’s language.
Change the long-stay limit and the number of alternatives to your own before you paste it.
What to connect
- Lodgify. Open Settings, then Public API, in Lodgify and copy your API key. Paste it in when AeroChat asks. AeroChat reads properties, availability and quotes.
- Your knowledge base. Upload your property descriptions, house rules and cancellation policy to AeroChat so it can answer the questions that come with a quote.
After you paste the recipe, AeroChat builds the workflow as a draft and shows a checklist: connect Lodgify, add your knowledge base if the recipe uses one, then switch it on. If it built the connection from Lodgify’s public documentation, the checklist asks you to check it once against the current docs.
Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.
Can’t find your tool? Message us in the chat on this page and we’ll tell you how it connects.
What you still decide
- Which properties AeroChat can offer as alternatives.
- Which stays always go to a person.
- Whether the quote reply includes the deposit and payment schedule.
The result to expect
Guests get a correct quote from your own Lodgify rates within a minute, at any hour. The owner stops typing out the same calculation, and more enquiries reach the booking step.
Measure it with your own numbers: enquiries answered outside your working hours, and enquiries that turn into bookings, for a month before and after.
Next: take direct bookings in chat.
Works on every chat channel
This workflow runs the same way on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, the chat on your website and email, with the same Lodgify connection behind it. See what each channel does on the Lodgify integration page.
Send your first quote from Lodgify
Paste the recipe, add your Lodgify API key, and ask the chat what one of your properties costs next month.
