Connect Salesforce to WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and AI Chat

By Alva Chew 6 min read Updated October 30, 2026

Leads and customers message you on WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram, web chat or email, but your pipeline lives in Salesforce Sales Cloud. AeroChat answers those conversations and works with Salesforce in both directions: it looks up the account, contact and opportunity when a customer asks, and it creates the lead, logs the task and updates the record with what the customer says. It connects through Salesforce’s public REST API. You describe the workflow in your own words, and AeroChat builds it.

What you can do with Salesforce and AeroChat

  • Create Salesforce leads from chat. When someone gives their name, company and email in chat, AeroChat creates or updates the lead with a note of what they asked about.
  • Answer quote and deal status questions. AeroChat finds the customer’s contact and open opportunity and tells them where it stands and who owns it.
  • Recognise returning contacts. AeroChat looks up the contact by email or phone and uses the account name and owner Salesforce already holds.
  • Log conversations as tasks. AeroChat adds a completed task to the contact or lead with a summary of the chat, so the owner sees it in the activity timeline.
  • Route hot leads to the record owner. AeroChat hands the conversation to the owner named in Salesforce, or to your sales team if there is none.

Works on every chat channel

Your leads and customers message you wherever they already are. The same Salesforce connection and the same workflows run on every channel AeroChat supports, and Salesforce stays the record whichever one they use.

Channel What your leads and customers can do
WhatsApp Message your WhatsApp Business number to ask about your products, request a quote or check where an existing quote stands. Voice notes are transcribed, so a spoken request works too.
Instagram Send the same requests by direct message. A comment on your post can get an automatic reply that moves the conversation to a DM.
Facebook Messenger Send the same requests to your Facebook Page. Comments on your Page posts can get an automatic reply too.
TikTok Send the same requests by TikTok direct message or TikTok Shop buyer chat. Both arrive in the same TikTok inbox.
Telegram Send the same requests to your business on Telegram.
Web chat Do the same from the chat on your website, without leaving the page.
Email Write to your Gmail or Office 365 address and get the same answer the chat gives.

How the connection works

AeroChat connects through Salesforce’s public REST API. It reads leads, contacts, accounts and opportunities, and it creates and updates leads, contacts, opportunities and tasks. Each workflow uses only what its recipe asks for.

API access is included in the Enterprise, Unlimited, Performance and Developer editions of Salesforce. On Professional Edition it is an add-on you request from Salesforce. To connect, a Salesforce admin creates an external client app (a connected app in older orgs) for AeroChat with OAuth enabled, assigns it a run-as user with the API Enabled permission, and copies the consumer key and secret along with your My Domain address. The steps are in the Salesforce REST API guide. Paste them into the AeroChat dashboard when AeroChat asks.

You describe the workflow in your own words. AeroChat builds it as a draft, works out which Salesforce calls it needs, and asks you to connect. Keys and credentials are entered in the AeroChat dashboard and never pass through the conversation.

Workflows to copy

Copy this into AeroChat

When someone gives their name, company and email in chat, search Salesforce for a contact or lead with that email. If there is one, update it. If not, create a lead with their name, company, email, phone and the channel they used. Set the lead source to Chat (example). Add a completed task to the record with a short summary of what they asked about.

When a customer asks about a quote or an order we are discussing, find their contact in Salesforce by the phone number they message from or the email they give. Find the open opportunity on their account. Tell them the stage in plain words and the name of their account manager. If they want to change anything, log a task for the opportunity owner with what they asked for and tell the customer the owner will reply within one working day (example).

Who uses it

Any business that runs its sales pipeline in Salesforce can use it. Suppliers and distributors that sell to other businesses use it for quote requests and account questions that arrive in chat. These industry recipes follow the same pattern:

What stays in Salesforce

Salesforce stays your record. Leads, accounts, opportunities, owners, forecasts and reports live there, and your team still works and closes the deals.

AeroChat handles the conversation. It looks up and creates the records your recipe asks for and leaves the rest to Salesforce and your team.

Questions

Does AeroChat work with Salesforce?

Yes. AeroChat connects through Salesforce’s public API with an external client app your Salesforce admin creates.

Can WhatsApp leads go straight into Salesforce?

Yes. When a lead gives their details in chat, AeroChat creates or updates the Salesforce lead and logs a task with a summary of the conversation.

Do I need a developer?

No. You describe the workflow in your own words, ask your Salesforce admin to create an external client app and paste in its keys, and switch it on. AeroChat builds the Salesforce connection from your description and shows a checklist of what is left to do.

Which plan do I need?

Workflows via Skills are on every plan, Free included. Choose by message volume: Starter covers 500 AI responses a month and 3 seats, Growth covers 2,000 responses and 10 seats and adds payment links and broadcasts, and Advanced covers 5,000 responses and 25 seats.

Using a different system? If it has a public API, it connects to AeroChat the same way: describe what you want, paste in its key, and it runs.
