AeroChat x Airwallex: Get Paid Without Leaving the Conversation
A customer messages you on WhatsApp to ask if a product is in stock. Your AI assistant confirms it, answers a question about sizing, and the customer says “I’ll take it.” Until now, that’s where things got clumsy. You send a link. Why in-chat payments matter
In-chat payment is increasingly expected as global data shows a growing preference among consumers to perform more commerce activities directly inside conversations.
Meta’s 2025 State of Business Messaging report surveyed over 11,000 consumers across 22 markets, and 73.3% said they prefer messaging a business over other contact methods. 72.4% said they’re more likely to buy from a brand that offers it.
A separate study from Valtech found that 72% of consumers would complete a full purchase, payment included, inside an AI chat app if they could.

- A customer agrees to buy something, mid-conversation.
- Your AI assistant, or a human agent, creates a secure payment link.
- The customer pays on Airwallex’s checkout page. AeroChat never sees the card details. The money goes straight into your Airwallex account.
- A confirmation message posts back into the same conversation automatically.
No separate payment app. No asking the customer to find their card and start over somewhere else.
On your website, the whole thing happens inside the chat window
On your website, the checkout appears inside the chat bubble itself. The customer never opens a new tab.
You choose how this works, per account, under Integrations. Checkout can appear inside the chat, or as a link that opens a separate page. WhatsApp, Messenger, and email always send a link, because those channels can’t embed a checkout inline.
What stays in your control
- You connect the Airwallex Business Account you already use. No new merchant account. No new banking relationship.
- AeroChat never sees card numbers and never holds your funds. Money settles directly into your Airwallex balance.
- Every payment gets confirmed twice: once the moment Airwallex’s webhook fires, and again when the customer lands on the confirmation page. A confirmation should never get missed.
