CRM & CONTACTS

Segments

Group your contacts and reach the right people. Build segments from simple filter rules — opt-in status, tags, and recency, then use them to target broadcasts instead of messaging everyone.

Key Capabilities

  • Rule-based filtering — define conditions on opt-in status, tags, last contacted, and date imported, with no manual list-building.
  • Match ALL or ANY — combine rules with AND logic (every condition must match) or OR logic (any condition matches).
  • Stack multiple conditions — add as many rules as you need to narrow down exactly who belongs in the segment.
  • Preview before you save — run a live count to see how many contacts match your rules before creating the segment.
  • Built for broadcasts — use a segment to target the right audience when sending broadcasts, instead of blasting your whole contact list.

Overview

Segments are saved groups of contacts defined by filter rules. Instead of hand-picking people one by one, you set conditions — like "tagged VIP" or "contacted within the last 30 days" — and AeroChat gathers everyone who matches.

Once a segment is built, it becomes a reusable audience for your messaging. Pair segments with Broadcasts to send the right message to the right people, rather than the same message to everyone.

How It Works

1

Name your segment

Give it a clear name like "VIP Customers" and an optional description so your team knows what it's for.

2

Set your conditions

Choose a field — opt-in status, tags, last contacted, or date imported — pick an operator, and enter a value. Add more conditions and choose Match ALL or Match ANY.

3

Preview and create

Click Preview Count to see how many contacts match, then save. Your segment is ready to use for targeted broadcasts.

See It In Action

Match ALL

VIP customers who are still reachable

2
Conditions
Define rules to filter contacts into this segment
Match ALLMatch ANY
Tags contains VIP
Opt-in Status equals Opted In
42 contacts match
Preview before you save
Preview Count

Why this wins: Only message engaged, opted-in VIPs — no wasted sends to people who opted out.

Match ANY

Re-engage contacts who've gone quiet

2
Conditions
Define rules to filter contacts into this segment
Match ALLMatch ANY
Last Contacted older than (days) 60
Date Imported older than (days) 90
118 contacts match
Preview before you save
Preview Count

Why this wins: Match ANY widens the net — anyone quiet for a while or imported long ago is pulled in, building a bigger win-back audience in one segment.

Setting It Up

  3. Under Conditions, add one or more rules and choose Match ALL or Match ANY.

  5. Head to Messaging → Broadcasts to send to your new segment.

FAQ

What can I filter contacts by?

Four fields: opt-in status, tags, last contacted, and date imported. You can combine several rules in one segment.

What's the difference between Match ALL and Match ANY?

Match ALL requires every condition to be true (AND). Match ANY includes a contact if any single condition is true (OR).

Can I see how many people are in a segment before saving?

Yes — Preview Count shows the number of matching contacts before you create it.

What are segments used for?

Targeting broadcasts — sending a message to a defined group rather than your entire contact list.

Do I have to add contacts manually?

No. Segments are rule-based — anyone matching your conditions is included automatically.
